The first tune is a composition of the great box player Martin Mulhaire. The title refers to America, in contrast to often-dreary Ireland. I follow it with a lively tune I learned from the playing of fiddler Mary Custy. It is also known as Up Against the Buachalawns and Sonny Brogan's.
